Set up email on a NameSilo domain

NameSilo gives every account a free API key, so email setup can be one paste: key in, records written, done. The by-hand path through their DNS manager is below.

One paste, then it does itself

  1. 1.

    Add your domain in Faivelo

  2. 2.

    Paste your NameSilo API key

  3. 3.

    Records write and verify themselves

Generate a key in the API Manager under your account tools and paste it into Faivelo once. Every record below is then written and verified for you.

Find the DNS editor

  1. 1Prefer to do it by hand? Sign in at namesilo.com and open Manage My Domains.
  2. 2Click the blue globe icon next to your domain to open DNS records.
  3. 3Add each entry your Faivelo dashboard lists and submit.

Leave the hostname empty for the root; NameSilo appends your domain to prefixes like _dmarc on its own.

EXISTING RESOURCE RECORDS

SUBMIT

Each record saves on submit; the page reloads the list so you can see what stuck.

What gets set up, in plain words

Receiving

One record tells the internet to deliver your mail to Faivelo.

MX

Sending and trust

These prove your mail is really yours, so it lands in inboxes instead of spam folders.

TXT ×4CNAME ×3MX

Device auto-setup optional

Optional but nice: phones and mail apps find their settings by themselves instead of asking for servers and ports.

CNAME ×2SRV ×3

You type less than you think

Add your domain to Faivelo, free, and your dashboard generates this exact set for your domain. Every value has a one-click copy next to it, and each record checks itself off the moment it goes live, so you always know what is done and what is left.

And you give nothing up: this is the same full SPF, DKIM and DMARC setup the big per-seat providers configure. The flat price changes what you pay, not what lands in inboxes.

Things NameSilo does differently

Clear the parking records first

New NameSilo domains carry parking A and CNAME records. Delete them before adding email records, or the checklist shows conflicts.

The default TTL looks odd on purpose

NameSilo defaults to a 7207 second TTL. It is fine; there is no need to change it for email records.

Check that it worked

Records usually go live within minutes, though caches can hold old answers for up to a day. Faivelo re-checks your domain automatically and emails you the moment everything verifies. Want an instant answer? Run a free email checkup on your domain and see exactly which records are live.
