CitrusMailby FaiveloDownload

Email never felt this fresh.

CitrusMail is a free, open source email client for Mac, Windows and Linux. It opens the mailbox you already have, from Faivelo or any IMAP server, with your calendar and contacts beside it.

Mail

Every folder in your mailbox, quick to open, with search you can narrow by sender, date and attachments.

Calendar

Your week next to your inbox, synced with the calendar you already use over CalDAV.

  • Day, week, month and year views
  • Drag an event to move it or change its length
  • Find any event with ⌘K

Contacts

Open anyone to see everything between you: every conversation, every file either of you sent, and the meetings coming up.

  • Every file to or from them, one click to open
  • The message each file came in, one click away
  • Your own note on each person, and your address book over CardDAV

Read receipts

See Delivered, Opened or Bounced on each message you track, right in Sent.

Bring your own AI

Bring a key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI or Perplexity. Summaries, replies and answers then come from the model you already pay for.

  • Summarise a long message into what you need to know
  • AI Reply drafts an answer you can edit
  • Ask a question of every folder at once

Questions, answered.

Is CitrusMail free?

Yes. CitrusMail is free and open source under the MIT licence, so you can use it, change it and even sell your own version.

Which email accounts does CitrusMail work with?

Any mailbox you can reach over IMAP or POP3 and send from over SMTP. It has built-in settings for Gmail, iCloud, Outlook, Yahoo, Fastmail, Zoho, GMX, Yandex and Proton Bridge, and finds the servers for most other addresses on its own.

Do I need a Faivelo account to use CitrusMail?

No. CitrusMail opens the mailbox you already have, wherever it is hosted. Faivelo makes it, and Faivelo mailboxes work in it too.

Which computers can run CitrusMail?

Mac with an Apple chip or an Intel chip, Windows, and Linux (as an AppImage).

Does CitrusMail have a calendar and contacts?

Yes. Your calendar syncs over CalDAV, with day, week, month and year views, and your contacts sync over CardDAV, in the same window as your mail.

How does the AI in CitrusMail work?

You bring your own key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI or Perplexity. CitrusMail then uses that model for summaries, AI Reply and questions across your mail.

Can I put my own name and logo on CitrusMail?

Yes. Start from the open source template, set your name, logo and colours, lock it to your own mail servers, and build it as a desktop app for Mac, Windows and Linux.

Bring your mailbox.
