Set up email on a Hostinger domain

Hostinger gives every hPanel account an API token under Dev Tools, so email setup can be one paste: token in, records written, done. The by-hand path through the DNS Zone Editor is below, along with the Hostinger Email records that need to go first.

One paste, then it does itself

  1. 1.

    Add your domain in Faivelo

  2. 2.

    Paste your Hostinger API token

  3. 3.

    Records write and verify themselves

In hPanel, open the API page from your profile menu or the Dev Tools section of the sidebar, click Generate token, name it Faivelo and copy the token. It is shown only once. Paste it into Faivelo and every record below is written and verified for you.

Find the DNS editor

  1. 1Prefer to do it by hand? Sign in at hpanel.hostinger.com and open Domains.
  2. 2Click Manage next to your domain, then DNS / Nameservers in the left sidebar.
  3. 3Under Manage DNS records, pick the Type, fill in each entry your Faivelo dashboard lists and click Add Record.
  4. 4If mx1.hostinger.com and mx2.hostinger.com rows are in the list, delete them with the trash icon.

Use @ in the Name field for the root and bare prefixes like _dmarc for the rest; Hostinger appends your domain. The TTL can stay at its 14400 default.

The mx1 and mx2.hostinger.com rows are Hostinger Email. Delete them, or they keep racing your real MX for incoming mail.

What gets set up, in plain words

Receiving

One record tells the internet to deliver your mail to Faivelo.

MX

Sending and trust

These prove your mail is really yours, so it lands in inboxes instead of spam folders.

TXT ×4CNAME ×3MX

Device auto-setup optional

Optional but nice: phones and mail apps find their settings by themselves instead of asking for servers and ports.

CNAME ×2SRV ×3

You type less than you think

Add your domain to Faivelo, free, and your dashboard generates this exact set for your domain. Every value has a one-click copy next to it, and each record checks itself off the moment it goes live, so you always know what is done and what is left.

And you give nothing up: this is the same full SPF, DKIM and DMARC setup the big per-seat providers configure. The flat price changes what you pay, not what lands in inboxes.

Things Hostinger does differently

Hostinger Email MX records come preinstalled

Domains at Hostinger start with MX records for Hostinger Email, the Titan-based mail product bundled with their hosting. Delete those rows before adding a new MX, or mail keeps landing at Hostinger. On the token path Faivelo replaces the root MX for you.

The editor is only in charge on Hostinger nameservers

The DNS / Nameservers page edits a zone that only answers when your domain uses Hostinger nameservers, the ones ending in dns-parking.com or hostinger.com. If you pointed the domain at Cloudflare or your old host, add the records there and use that host's guide.

The token is shown once

Hostinger hides the token after a page refresh. If you closed the page without copying it, generate another; there is no way to reveal the first one again.

Check that it worked

Records usually go live within minutes, though caches can hold old answers for up to a day. Faivelo re-checks your domain automatically and emails you the moment everything verifies. Want an instant answer? Run a free email checkup on your domain and see exactly which records are live.
